As the Bitcoin euphoria continues, it's important to take a step back and re-evaluate things by looking at the bigger picture. Heading into 2018, regulation will be the number one topic/issue surrounding cryptocurrencies - so it is vital to know what opinions these regulators/central bankers have on something like Bitcoin.

Bloomberg has a good summary piece on the matter.

Jerome Powell, a board member and the chairman nominee, said earlier this year that technical issues remain with the technology and "governance and risk management will be critical." Powell said there are "meaningful" challenges to a central bank cryptocurrency, that privacy issues could be a problem, and private-sector alternatives may do the job.

There is somewhat of a trend among most central bankers, that they are still taking a "I see where you're coming from, but I still need a little something more" approach. No one is willing enough to endorse such volatility and lack of regulation at this point in time, but when the tables start turning - expect things to pick up quickly.
