• RBA Governor Stevens speaks before Parliamentary panel. @ 23:00 GMT.
  • U.K. employment confidence (prior -43)@23:01 GMT.
  • Australia ANZ September job advertisements (prior -2.3%) @00:30 GMT.
  • China September HSBC services PMI (prior 52) @ 02:30 GMT.

Main event of the evening will be after RBA’s Steven response to the panel over the bank’s knowledge of corruption at Note Printing Australia and Securency International. Other questions for the Governor will be whether he expects to serve out his full term or possibly take the top position at the BOE. Of course any little word about further rate cuts will also get reporters attention. The U.S. Columbus Day holiday should put a damper on major directional moves, with consolidation being the thought for the session.

Good luck today.
