You can't help but wonder how much all of this is about Nord Stream 2.
US LNG is a direct competitor to Russian natural gas exports.
Ultimately, I expect Russian gas to be redirected to Asia (something already agreed) and for Europe to continue paying premium LNG prices. The loser in all that is Europe, not Russia.
