The open in US stocks was much stronger than futures indicated. The S&P 500 is up 42 points, or 1.1%, to 3946. The Nasdaq is trailing slightly at +0.8%.
Stocks continue to chew into the losses from two weeks ago but still have about 200 points to go, or 5%.
