GBP/USD choppy today

Cable jumped 30 pips at the London fix to 1.5478 (a session high) then floundered and then fell 60 pips ahead hit a session low at 1.5410.

Given that Bank of England Governor Mark Carney was speaking at the same time, that's the natural culprit but his comments were so bland he was nearly silent. He talked about a Brexit but only in the most distant terms.

The rest of the market has been relatively quiet so chalk it up to flows.

In the bigger picture, cable has the dual support at the Oct 15 low of 1.5415 and the 55-day moving average at 1.5417.

The zone around the 100-day moving average continues to restrain the upside.
