Some negative ticks in the major indices
The gains in the S&P and the Nasdaq have eroded. There is no real news. Data today started strong with the retail sales and jobless claims stronger than expectations, but the Markit PMI data was weaker.
The S&P is currently trading -3 points or -0.10% at 2897.33. The high reached 2906.00
The Nasdaq is currently trading down -28 points or -0.35% at 7968.85. The high reached 8002.309.
The Dow is still higher by 42 points on the day.
Yesterday, the NASDAQ index reached a high of 8052.395. That got closer to the all-time high at 8133.29, but backed off into the close yesterday.
For the S&P index, yesterday, the high price reached 2918.00. Its all-time high extended to 2940.91 back on September 21, 2018.
