Volatile market conditions

The US the broad market stock indices have given up their gains.

  • the S&P index is now down 2 points or -0.7% at 2835. The high reach 2848
  • The NASDAQ composite index is down -12 points or -0.16% at 7403. The high extended to 7458.

The Dow is still up 50 points at 26302 but is off its highs at 26385.

Like yesterday, the early gains are not sustainable.

In the US debt market:

  • two-year 2.092%, up 1.6 basis points
  • five-year 2.455%, up 2.1 basis points
  • 10 year 2.659%, up 1.3 basis points
  • 30 year 2.918%, -1 basis point

IN other markets:

  • Spot gold is down $1 or -0.7% at 1357.62
  • WTI crude oil remains higher at $66.34 up $.73 or 1.11%

European stocks have seen a reversal from higher levels
