EUR/USD sits at 1.3340, marginally easier from a North American close Thursday up around 1.3360.
Interesting to see ECB’s Liikanen opining that inflation in euro zone not yet a concern, after the damage Trichet’s hawkish comments did to the euro bear cause yesterday.
Euro zone data today:
07:00 GMT: German CPI for December (final) expected +1.0% m/m, +1.7% y/y
09:00 GMT: Italian trade for November
10:00 GMT: Euro zone CPI for December expected +0.6% m/m, +2.2% y/y Core +1.1% y/y
10:00 GMT: Euro zone trade for November expected +3.3 bln, s.a. +1.7 bln
10:00 GMT: Italian CPI EU harmonised for December expected +0.3% m/m, +2.0% y/y
Guess after Trichets comments we’ll all be paying more attention to inflation data coming out of the euro zone.
Stops through 1.3300 and 1.3280, and on topside through 1.3410.
