Yes ladies and gentleman, the FOMC is over, now its time for some Reserve Bank of Australia action!

RBA governor Glenn Stevens appears in the Australian parliament today (rumours he is running for new PM are unfounded), before the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics.

Officially the occasion is to review the banks annual report, but in effect its an opportunity for members of parliament to lie, grandstand, score points and generally make fools of themselves ask the governor questions on the economy, RBA monetary policy, financial stability and such.

  • begins at 9.30am local time, which is 2330GMT

Oh, BTW. here is a pic of Governor Stevens with a cat on his head.

He has promised to wear the cat on his head until the transition in the Australian economy is complete. True. Never a word of a lie.
