I posted earlier on Japanese govt likely to raise its economy assessment
That's the June update of the Japanese government's monthly economic report from the Cabinet office
Also coming up soon, the Bank of Japan quarterly Tankan
- Due for release on July 3
Yesterday we got the results of the Reuters Tankan, a monthly survey that seeks to track the BOJ's:
It indicted that Japan's economic expansion is still on track
- Showed solid demand both domestically and from overseas
The manufacturers index bounced, to match its 10 year high seen in April
- And the outlook is for even higher (further improvement) in the next quarter
For non-manufacturers (services) a 3rd rise in a row and to a high for 2 years
- Construction, real estate, retail & wholesale all improving
- The outlook for the services sector was not quite so hot for coming months, expected to see a small decline
