ANZ on the RBNZ, expect the next rate move in … 18 months

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand meet this week, I posted a quickie what to expect preview here earlier:

If you'd like to ignore the RBNZ for a while to come, you'll be excused.

ANZ are not expecting a rate move from the central bank until at the earliest November 2019!

ANZ economics in NZ with the note, they were previously at August 2019 for the next move. Citing:

• softer outlook for GDP growth
• an even more gradual increase in inflation
• "RBNZ will wait for inflation to rise in a consistent way … This will take some time"
