A end of day snapshot of the major stock markets for April 8, 2015

US major indices rise

Below is a snapshot of the changes in the major global stock indices for April 8, 2015. In the US, the NASDAQ composite index rose by 40.59 points or 0.83%. This was the big gainer on the day. The Russell 2000 also had a fairly decent day at +0.75%. The S&P rose, but at a more modest 0.27%.

In European markets, the major indices all fell with the German DAX suffering the largest decline (-0.72%.) The Shanghai composite continued its bullish momentum with a 0.84% increase while the Japan Nikkei rose by 0.76%
