AEP: Elite cell at the US Treasury prepared for financial warfare

Interesting reading from The Telegraph’s Ambros Evans-Pritchard today:

For the past 12 years an elite cell at the US Treasury has been sharpening the tools of economic warfare, designing ways to bring almost any country to its knees without firing a shot.

He speaks to the author of a book called Treasury’s War: the Unleashing of a New Era of Financial Warfare.

It focuses on Russia and it’s all a bit over-the-top (as always with AEP) but I don’t doubt that the US could destroy any economy with the financial system.
