Pretty quiet here in the States today as much of the country digs out from weekend snow storms. Last week’s big swings have injected a dose of caution into the market keeping speculators sidelined for fears of being whipsawed. Expect the market to thin further as schools let out in the next day or two. Corporates will clean up a few last-munute bits of business in illiquid markets which will push things around modestly, but in all likelihood we’ll end 2008 within a few percent of where we trade today.
EUR/USD trades at 1.3944 and USD/JPY at 90.05.
