Good solid gains are seen right across Asia today. The Nikkei is up 2.2%, the ASX200 is up 2.3% and the Kospi up 0.9%. The Chinese indicators were a positive sign helping financials and mining stocks run.
In Sydney, BHP+2.1%, RIO+4.5% and NAB up 2.8%, the best of the bunch. In Japan, Nisshin Steel is up 6.3% after Asahi Shimbun reported that Nippon Steel planned to make Nisshin part of their corporate group. In Seoul KB Financial is up 1.6% and Daewoo Shipbuilding rose 4.3%.
However markets will be closely watching Wall St and any news related to CIT.
