Latest data released by the RBA - 1 May 2019
- Prior +11.0%; revised to +10.2%
- Commodity price index (AUD terms) 122.2
- Prior 123.0; revised to 122.1
Slight delay in the release by the source. The data point measures the change in selling prices of those commodities exported by Australia.
Compared to April last year, commodity prices are much higher than the year-on-year comparison for March but the index did actually drop from the previous month and the index also climbs slightly upon revision to the March reading.
Overall, the reading here is still relatively elevated compared to the past few years and continues to highlight the strong terms of trade in the country despite worries elsewhere.
