Comments by BOJ governor Haruhiko Kuroda in parliament

  • "It is my duty to continue persistently easing policy"
  • Companies are becoming less cautious over wages
  • Households are also becoming less cautious over prices
  • Overall financial system maintains stability
  • Need to watch out for side effects of easing policy

Nothing new on offer by Kuroda here. By "less cautious" he basically means that companies are less fussy about keeping wage rises to a minimum. Well, let's see if that's the case during the spring wage negotiations (usually in March to April) then.

"The script says that we still have a chance of reaching the 2% inflation target. Lul."
