Cable rebounds back to flat
The Telegraph reports that the UK and EU are said to reach an agreement on the Brexit divorce bill.
The report says the cost of leaving has been left open to interpretation but will be between €45B and €55B. The EU had asked for €60B and the UK had offered a third of that.
The costs of exiting have been the major stumbling block of the current stage of negotiations and an agreement will pave the way to the next stage.
Cable jumped to as high as 1.3323 from 1.3230 on the headlines. Any progress on Brexit is good news for the pound. It should help to put a bid back into GBP after today's stumble.
