CHINA DATA: Consumer sentiment improved throughout China in November, with
improving data and a smooth political handover underpinning a second straight
month of gains, according to the results of the MNI China Consumer Sentiment
Indicator released Tuesday. The headline indicator rose to 95.5 in November
following October’s 92.3, which marked the first increase since June. The
November headline compares with September’s year-to-date low of 89.3 and was the
highest reading since June’s 101.6. Sentiment improved in all regions of the
country for the first time since June, with gains broad-based and including
current personal finances, the economic outlook, and the willingness to purchase
household durable goods.
