No changes as AUD and CAD lead the way, while the EUR lags
The most exciting move in the session so far came in cable. It fell to a low of 1.3360, tested the support here that I noted and bounced back. It then hit a high of 1.3397 but again, sellers lurking near 1.3400 is keeping the pair capped for the time being. Very narrow range for cable over the past week to be honest.
CAD is basically just extending yesterday's strength following strong retail sales and CPI data. Meanwhile, the EUR is lagging after early news from the Catalonia elections - where the separatists won the seating majority - and German foreign minister saying that a minority government is still possible, continue to weigh on the euro.
Here's how the major pairs are performing today and their ranges:
- EUR/USD: -21 pips (Range: 59 pips)
- USD/JPY: +4 pips (Range: 18 pips)
- GBP/USD: +2 pips (Range: 37 pips)
- USD/CHF: +7 pips (Range: 17 pips)
- USD/CAD: -25 pips (Range: 36 pips)
- AUD/USD: +14 pips (Range: 19 pips)
- NZD/USD: Flat (Range: 20 pips)
Tight ranges still abound for most pairs.
