BERLIN (MNI) – The German government expects that domestic GDP
growth will slow to 2.3% this year from 3.6% last year, German daily
Bild reported on Wednesday on its website, citing government sources.
Economics Minister Rainer Bruederle is scheduled to present the new
forecasts at 10:00 GMT today.
On Tuesday, Bruederle already said that “the likelihood is high”
that German GDP growth will top 2% this year. In October, the government
had predicted 1.8% growth for 2011.
