ATHENS (MNI) – The Greek government’s deficit for the first ten
months of this year was E7.5 billion less than in the previous-year
period, the Bank of Greece said Tuesday.

In the January-October period the central government cash deficit
(net balance of the state budget including movements in public debt
management accounts) decreased to E20.618 billion euros from E27.119
billion in the corresponding period of 2009, the central bank said in a
press release.

During the same period, ordinary budget revenue increased to E40.16
billion euros from 38.9 billion euros last year. Ordinary budget
expenditure decreased to 54.57 billion euros compared with 59.67 billion
euros in January-October 2009.
