The actual dates of the annual Beidaihe meeting, "summer summit" as it is called, are not known
- It may be happening as we speak (type?), it is usually in the earlier part of August
- Held in the resort town in Hebei province
- China's current leaders and those from earlier generations meet informally
- Its a series of closed-door discussions on domestic and international issues
Under consideration re economic policy will be domestic issues such as deleveraging, stimulus, growth, jobs … and more. Along with political issues, of course. The trade war with the US will also be a topic and I expect we will get indications of the next direction for China in the coming week or so.
It is, of course, all very opaque. We'll do out best to assess what they've come up with though.
