The London Stock Exchange experienced some technical difficulties earlier
That prevented the FTSE 100 and 250 securities open to be delayed today. It was reported that there was a "potential trading services issue" with the exchange and that led to the delay.
But the securities are now in the opening auction call and will be open for trading in just under 10 minutes at 0840 GMT.
