Makoto Utsumi: “What I can say for sure is the yen has hit its’ peak”

Wow, ballsy or what? Unfortunately, don’t know what his track record as a forex forecaster is like.

In an interview with Dow Jones, Mr Utsumi (Japan’s vice finance mininster for international affairs between 1989 and 1991) said “What I can say for sure is the yen has hit its peak” adding “the dollar may trade in a 85-90 range by June and reach 95 by the year end. and the euro may rise to a 115-125 range in the coming 6 months.”

Mr Utsumi seems to base his forecasts on firmer US yields and the euro zone sorting out it’s problems.
