New Zealand: June Building Permits

  • More homes were consented in the first six months of 2015 than a year previously
  • In the month of June 2015, 2,042 new dwellings were consented nationally, up 2.0 percent on June 2014. However, in seasonally adjusted terms, the number was down 4.1 percent from May 2015.

New dwellings consented in June 2015, compared with June 2014:

  • Nationally, up 40 (2.0 percent) to 2,042
  • Auckland, up 105 (18 percent) to 704
  • Canterbury, down 79 (13 percent) to 544

"New dwelling consents growth this month was led by Auckland, which offset the fall in Canterbury," Ms Eatherley said
