The Dow rising off its overnight lows, coupled with gains in after-hours Dow futues, has seen Regional equity markets trade higher. You could be excused for thinking that the market perceives an UP night tonight on Wall Street.
The ASX200 is trading up 0.3% at 3337 and has been hanging onto the 3300 level for a few days now. Good gains in Financial stocks and banking stocks have negated loses in BHP, RIO and NCM. Telstra also down on the back of first half net profits falling and the departure of it CEO. However the big story today has been Macquarie Group, down 6%, on the back of rumours and questions over its Company model.
Elsewhere, the Nikkei is up 1.3% with strong gains in Auto makers and other exporters on the back of a weaker Yen. Honda +3.4% and Nissan +3.3%
The Kospi is up 0.2% after giving back strong gains.
