Hurricane Sandy is now much closer to making landfall in the North East of the US and it is wreaking havoc. Widespread power outages, bridges, tunnels, roads closed to traffic. Lower Manhattan is experiencing flooding with a storm surge up to 9 feet. Reports of NYC subway tunnel flooding quite badly.
The NYT is saying insurers are estimating US$10B in damage (but could go much higher).
Not good, folks.
