Gary Cohn faked bad phone connection to get out of call with Trump, Senator says
Gary Cohn faked a bad phone connection with the President so he could cut Trump out of a meeting about taxes, according to a Democratic Senator from Delaware.
Tom Carper said he told Cohn they weren't going to have a real discussion about taxes once Trump joined in.
"So you're saying Gary Cohn faked a bad connection to get the president off the phone?" CNN host John Berman asked.
"Well, I wouldn't - I don't want to throw him under the bus, but yes," Carper responded.
The call took place earlier this month when Trump was on his trip to Asia.
The White House denies it took place.
