Prior week revised to 277K from 278K
The weekly initial jobless claims rose to 285K from 277K (revised slightly lower from 278K).
The continuing claims for the current week came in at 2255K vs. 2040 K estimate. the prior month was revised to 2273K from 2268K
There were no special factors affecting the claims this week . Although Oklahoma did estimate. The four-week average rose to 284.75 from 282.75.
The number is not bad but it is another weak link in the chain. The dollar has moved lower on the productivity weakness and claims not hitting the target.
