December trade balance. Prior month comes in at -42.23 down slightly from -42.37b
The US trade balance data for the month of December has come in at -43.36 B vs an estimate of -43.20B. The number is as expected. Obviously the focus is on the jobs.
The exports fell to 4-year lows as slower global growth and the dollar hurt exports. If you take out the price fluctuation effect, the trade deficit widened to 60.3B in December from 59.2B last month This should have a negative effect on 4Q GDP.
