IMF lowers US growth forecasts. Sees 2.9% this year, down from 3.7%
IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva spoke at a news conference accompanying the release:
- "We are conscious that there is a narrowing path to avoiding a recession in the U.S.,"
- she noted that the outlook had a high degree of uncertainty
